A lot of Freud, Some Shakespeare, No Plato

Relationships at times can start off at a very f*cked
up place, where nobody has any indication
as to where anything is going. As children
things don’t matter, your friends can be either
or sex or any gender. With each and every
internal metallic cog in the clock things
slowly start to transform.

Thoughts of friendship with the opposite sex
absent of a little subterfuge was never possible.
However, as we age as human beings,
comprehension seeps in, both sexes
can indeed have a mutual bond
absent of romantic love.

It was once explained
to me by my grumpy professor
(I’m sorry, to you reading this poem
right now, just give me a quick
moment as — I’m cackling)

my professor would say
since none of us are engaged
in a romantic relationship
there is no need for lies.

That honestly makes me laugh
so ridiculously hard.

That’s a whole other ball of wax
and it introduces why would lovers
lie to each other?

Why is it that with only some
vulnerability and importance
offers a correlation in relation
to affection?

Why do the sceptics think
to love or not willing to leap?

So many pathways brought
on by the simple thought
of friendship.

(Hey! Back to you reading!
Don’t you just love psycho
babble? Time for radio gaga!)
