i genuinely
appreciated
swiss delights
in the country
of their origin

— my mother
used to always
say  “des goûts
et des couleurs,
on ne dispute pas”
which translates
to tastes and colours
we do not dispute

nevertheless
this one time
i found myself
opening my mouth
in utter disgust
someone had the nerve
— in front of me to prefer
boring old hershey’s
to a lindt tablette — sigh!
so worthy
of appreciation

i will be the first to admit
how much i relish kisses
but never over lindt

which is probably
why we should
comprehend everyone
has different tastes
and that it’s ok
to agree to disagree…
