of summer
one of the first
things that comes

moments to basque
in the freedom
of being able
to wake
at a slightly
later time — clearly
not tethered to a specific
schedule — moments
where giggles reign
and children are able
to explore
one of my kids
favourite
confection
during their vacation
had been these fluffy
marshmallow
ice cream cones
only available
from june
to the end
of august
at present i’m
ready to say farewell
to picnic days
as my palate prepares
itself for the fall festive
season and a ton
of candy corn
& molasses
