i can
completely
appreciate
the unique
characteristic
freak shows
offer
a bearded lady
here,
knife swallower
there,
not to mention
the exquisite
fire-eaters
there\’s
beauty
& eloquence
within
these extremely
complex chimera\’s
now,
that being said…
a few years ago
during black history
month, come to think
about it, might
have been
last year…
an image
circulated
all over social
media… which
up until recently
seemed socially
acceptable…
not to my optics
a sweet little
black toddler
confined
to a gated stage
for all to
gawk
imprisoned
for being black
savagery,
i believe
is too light
a word
to describe
those moments
of true clarity
& what humanity
can do to prevent
future atrocities.
