as a child
there were
certain candies
that were prized

harvested bag
of halloween
treats had be checked
for poisoned apples
or pin punctured
popcorn
they were divided
into most and least
likely to be devoured
the astro rocket blasters
were always amongst
the first group
of candies
to be annihilated
even now
i remember
how each delectable
layer would stick
inside the micro
crevasses
of my teeth
