"The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don\’t know what the hell they\’re doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino."

identity is something
   that impacts our global
       community

   can you imagine
      for a moment please
          how different
              your specific
          life would be
      in the absence
  of something so integral
to not only my life\’s blood
        but all the other inhabitants
            on our planet

   to genuinely
       know who you are
           is an immense gift
       albeit never easy when one\’s
          mission reveals itself
             at a tender age

      nevertheless
         fear of our inner core
            should cease to exist
         anxiety travels in tsunami
sized waves — which at time
                 i suppose would render
            a tremendous amount
                of trepidation

       however
          the only one
             responsible
                 for your epic tale
                      is you

i know one thing for sure
        my story will NEVER involve
            coffee — well unless
                 you\’d like to see
                     how the caffeine
              interacts with a manic
          system ignited by just
one little bean — i\’ll process
  and sit in my oubliette
with a delicious cup
  of steeped sweet
       ice tea
